Reduces kickback by keeping
kerr open; when lowered during
crosscutting, provides partial
barrier to leading edge of blade
Turn _unterclockwise to
loosen, clockwise to tighten
For ripping, set pawl level on
workpiece surface. For safety
reasons set pawls before rip-

For ripping, lower to table
For safety reasons riving knife
must be in line with blade. See
