pg. 92
For vehicle development purposes, to simulate the measurement or fault threshold of an external
insulation fault, connect a known resistance between the vehicle chassis and the high power battery
(positive or negative). For example, using a 6kΩ, 5W resistor, set the Insulation Resistance Fault
reshold parameter to a value less than 6kΩ, and then (using a 1313/1314) read this simulated 6kΩ
high power battery insulation resistance using the Insulation Resistance monitor. To verify fault code 76
operation in this example, re-set the Insulation Resistance Fault reshold to a value greater than 6kΩ.
Steps 15: as Applicable
If not already completed, within the Speed Controller menu,
15.1 Set the Response Restraint parameters.
15.2 Set the Position Hold parameters.
Set the parameters in the EM Brake Control menu.
15.3 New since os32.0 is the EM Brake Test menu.
Note that the interactions of the Position Hold and the EM Brake Control can be complex. Be sure to
test all operational modes, including uphill (ramp) and downhill (ramp) stops and starts (re-starts)
going in both directions (forward and reverse). Test both loaded and unloaded vehicles, and whether
a load is removed or added to a vehicle when stopped on a hill (ramp). Protect personnel and property
when testing on a hill (ramp) from unintended (or expected) vehicle movement or roll-away conditions.
