What is New in os37.0
The Digital Out 6 Open/Short and Digital Out 7 Open/Short were updated to Digital Out 6
Overcurrent and Digital Out 7 Overcurrent to more accurately describe the feature as the open driver
checks were not performed. e current limit remains at 1 Amp. is name change also applies to
the VCL_BIT denitions,
• DIGITAL_OUT_6_OPEN_SHORT_FAULT = DIGITAL_OUT_6_OVERCURRENT_FAULT.
• DIGITAL_OUT_7_OPEN_SHORT_FAULT = DIGITAL_OUT_7_OVERCURRENT_FAULT.
e VCL_CONST denitions were also updated,
• DIGITAL_OUT_6_OPEN_SHORT = DIGITAL_OUT_6_OVERCURRENT
• DIGITAL_OUT_7_OPEN_SHORT = DIGITAL_OUT_7_OVERCURRENT
Note: e operating system (OS) since os36.0 added the ability to operate PMAC motors. However,
the OEM must insure that KSI power is active any time the motor is moving. Removal of KSI
power when the motor is spinning past the base speed may result in immediate controller damage.
Reference the PMAC (PERMANENT MAGNET MOTOR) parameter section in Chapter 4, or the
PMAC Commissioning in Chapter 8B for further detail on PMAC applications.
Getting the most out of the Curtis controller
Thoroughly read and refer to this manual to apply and configure the controller. Understanding
the installation & wiring guidelines, the parameter settings, the VCL functions, the initial
setup & commissioning, and using the diagnostic and troubleshooting guide are critical to a
successful application.
