(1) Invoke the Professional Ground Station (PGS) software
on the analysis PC by selecting the PGS desktop icon
with the mouse.
(2) From the menu options, select the 'Aircraft,
Equipment' option from the drop down menu.
(3) From the 'Equipment List' table, highlight the 'Penny
& Giles’, ‘SSCVFDR’, D51615-202-XXX‘ recorder by
clicking on the line, and then clicking the ‘Select’
button.
(4) From the menu or toolbar, select theDatabase
Manager' option from the drop down menu.
(5) From the list displayed, click on the appropriate
database for the aircraft.
(6) Click on the 'Select' button to load the database into
PGS. PGS will then enable other functions within the
software, highlighting the button.
(7) From the menu options, select the 'Flight, Open
Flight' option from the drop down menu.
(8) Select the 'Files of Type:' drop down list, and select
the ‘*.pcm' option to reveal all previously converted
PCM files. Select the appropriate directory in which the
download file is held.
(9) Select the appropriate file from the list, you will then be
asked to convert the file to PGS flight data format,
select ‘Yes’. You can now rename it if desired, but leave
the .XFF extension.
(10) The file will then be processed and automatically be
given the .xff extension. On completion of the file
process data should be displayed for the first defined
group of parameters, if appropriate.
(11) As far as practicable ensure all parameters are active
and are in range.
Whenever unscheduled maintenance has been performed on
the aircraft, which may have affected any of the data input
signals or the performance or operation of the DAFR or its
associated interface, accessories or components, this test
should be performed. Upon satisfactory completion of this
test, an entry should be made in the maintenance records of
the aircraft.
