The main power supply to the DAFR is +28VDC with aircraft
electrical power characteristics of RTCA DO-160E, Section 16,
Category A.
An Underwater Locator Beacon (ULB) is fitted to the Crash
Survivable Memory Module as an aid to location in the event of
an accident over water.
The DAFR is painted International Orange with high visibility
white strips as an aid to its location.
No external controls are provided on the DAFR as operation is
automatic upon the application of power.
The DAFR Type D51615-202-XXX or Type D51615-202-XXX-
090 satisfies the minimum operating requirements for a
Cockpit Voice Recorder and Flight Data Recorder as defined by
ED112 and ARINC 757 Supplement 2.
1.1.2 Equipment Part Numbering
The Penny & Giles Aerospace Ltd DAFR is identified by the
convention shown in Figure 3 where applicable.
