This procedure may be performed on the download PC or on a
desktop PC on to which the recovered data has been copied.
It is assumed that a database with appropriate parameter
definitions has been defined and PGS has been set up
correctly. Refer to the PGS Operators Manual for more
details.
1. Invoke the Professional Ground Station (PGS) software
on the analysis PC by selecting the PGS desktop icon
with the mouse.
2. From the ‘Databases’ drop-down menu or toolbar,
select the ‘Database Manager’ option.
3. From the list displayed, click on the appropriate
database for the aircraft and click on the ‘Select’
button.
4. From the ‘Flight’ drop-down menu, select the ‘Open
Flight’ option.
5. In the ‘Open’ dialogue box, select ‘MPFR Files (*.fdr)’
as the file type and navigate to the appropriate
directory in which the downloaded file is held.
6. Select the file and when asked to convert the file into
PGS flight data format, click ‘Yes’.
7. In the ‘Save As’ dialogue box that opens, select a
location for the converted file and rename it if required.
Click ‘Save’.
8. From the MPFR List that is displayed, select the
D51615-202-XXX’ option and click ‘OK’. Click ‘OK’
again when the ‘File converted’ message is displayed.
9. Data from the converted file will be displayed for the
first defined group of parameters, if appropriate.
10. As far as practicable, ensure that all parameters are
active and are in range.
6.6.3 Procedure Using PGS Only
NOTE:
1, The following procedure assumes that the PC has
been configured to support communications
between the DAFR and PC as detailed in the
Ground Support Interface manual PIM 428-O.
2, This procedure will work with PGS version 4.0.7
and above.
3, This procedure requires the Fleet Management
function configured to support the aircraft type,
database and flight recorder type set prior to use,
this is detailed in the Ground Support Interface
manual PIM 428-O.
