PC Communications
When using the Expert software for set-up and diagnostics an RS485
converter will be required to interface between one of the PC
communication ports and the RS-485. This can be either a USB to 485
converter, such as the B&B Electronics® USOTL4 or an RS 232 to
RS485 converter, such as the 485OT9L. See Accessories section.
It is important that the RS485 REF is connected to the
circuit common of the converters 485 output. Failure
to connect could cause damage to the drive, the
converter or the PC port.
Typical RS 485 Connection to External Converter
Connection to B&B USOTL4 Using TTCOM Cable
