Powersupplytounitmustbedisconnectedwhen
makingfieldconnections.Toavoidelectricalshock,per-
sonalinjuryordeath,besuretorigorouslyadheretofield
wiringproceduresregardingproperlockoutandtagoutof
components.

General Use and Information
TheMicrotechIIIunitcontrollerisprovidedwithtwodrive
terminals,R(24VAC)andC(0VAC)thatcanbeused
bytheendusertodrivethethermostatinputs(G,Y1,
Y2,W1,andW2)andcontrolinputs(U,E,andO).Any
combinationofasingleboarddriveterminal(RorC)
maybeusedtooperatetheMicroTechIIIunitcontroller’s
controlorthermostatinputs.However,onlyonedrive
terminal(RorC)canbeconnectedtoanyindividual
inputterminalordamagemayresult.Somecontrol
inputsarenotaccessibletotheenduser(forexample,
HP,LP,SLTS,andCOF).
TypicallytheMicrotechIIIunitcontroller’sR(24VAC)
terminalisusedtodrivetheboard’sthermostatinputs
andcontrolinputsbyconnectingittotheRterminalof
anindustrystandardthermostat.Thecontroloutputs
ofthestandardthermostatarethenconnectedtothe
MicrotechIIIunitcontrollerthermostatinputsandcontrol
inputsasneeded.Anyremainingboardinput(s)may
beoperatedbyadditionalthermostatoutputsorremote
relays(drycontactsonly).
AllMicrotechIIIunitcontrollerinputsmustbeoperated
bydrycontactspoweredbythecontrolboard’spower
terminals.Nosolidstatedevices(Triacs)maybeused
tooperatetheMicrotechIIIunitcontrollerinputs.No
outsidepowersourcemaybeusedtooperatethe
MicrotechIIIunitcontrollerinputs.
