TheLonWorkscommunicationmodulewillplugintothe
MicrotechIIIunitcontrollerattheCN_LON1Header(see
Figure16onpage20).
EachDaikinwatersourceheatpumpcanbeequipped
withaLonWorkscommunicationmodule.The
controllerismicroprocessor-basedandisdesigned
tocommunicateoveraLonWorkscommunications
network.Theunitcontrollerisfactoryprogrammedand
testedwithallthelogicrequiredtomonitorandcontrol
theunit.Thewallthermostatsetstheunitmodeof
operation.Theunitcontrollermonitorswaterandair
temperatures,andcancommunicatefaultconditionstoa
LonWorkscommunicationsnetwork.
TheMicroTechIIIunitcontrollerwithcommunication
moduleincludesaunit-mountedreturnair,dischargeair
andleavingwatertemperaturesensor.Wallmounted
temperaturesensorsincludesetpointadjustment
andtenantoverride.Theuserhasthecapabilityof
substitutingthewallsensorwithaduct-mountedreturn
airsensor.
Eachunitcontrollerorchestratesthefollowingunit
operations:
■ Enableheatingandcoolingtomaintainsetpoint
basedonaroomsensor.
■ Enablefanandcompressoroperation.
■ Monitorallequipmentprotectioncontrols.
■ Monitordischargeairtemperature.
■ Monitorleavingwatertemperature.
■ Relaystatusofallvitalunitfunctions.
■ Supportoptionalcontroloutputs.
MicroTechIIIheatpumpswithaMicroTechIIIunit
controller are LonMarkcertiedanddesignedtobe
linkedwithacentralizedbuildingautomationsystem
throughaLonWorkscommunicationsnetworkfor
centralizedschedulingandmanagementofmultiple
heatpumps.Wall-mountedroomsensorsareavailable
tocontroltheheatingandcoolingoperationofeach
MicroTechIIIWaterSourceHeatPumpUnitController.
Availableroomsensorsinclude:roomsensorwithLED
statusandtenantoverridebutton,roomsensorwithLED
status,timed-overridebutton,roomsensorwithLED
status,timed-overridebutton,andsetpointadjustment,
androomsensorwithLEDstatus,timed-overridebutton,
setpointadjustment.
TheMicroTechIIIwatersourceheatpumpunitcontroller
providescontrolofDaikinwatersourceheatpumps.
Thecontrollerenablesthemodeofoperation,monitors
thewaterandairtemperatures,andindicatesfault
conditions.Eachunitcontrollerisfactoryprogrammed,
wired,andtestedforeffectiveoperationofyourDaikin
watersourceheatpump.
TheMicroTechIIIwatersourceheatpumpcontroller
usesLonWorkstechnology.
