This computer is offered with a configuration that utilizes an on-board storage where the UFS storage is part of the system
board assembly.
In the event the computer requires a system board replacement, all data stored locally on the computer will be lost and will no
longer be recoverable. Pre-wire the customer to backup their data on the computer in order to prevent any potential data loss
after a service incident.
After replacing the system board, OS reinstallation will be required. This can be done using the OS Recovery media or initiating
BIOSConnect OS Recovery, provided that Internet connection is available.
NOTE:
Dell is not responsible for backing up the customer's data. The customer is responsible for the data on their own
computer and keeping any backups of the files.
1. Replace the system board into the computer chassis.
2. Replace the five screws (M2x3) that secure the system board to the computer chassis.
3. Replace the coin-cell battery into its sot on the system board.
4. Connect the coin-cell battery cable to the connector on the system board.
5. Connect the speaker cable and the audio board cable to their connectors on the system board.
6. Connect the touch-display connector.
7. Connect the three antenna cables to the WLAN module on the system board.
8. Replace the WLAN antenna cable bracket on the system board.
9. Replace the single screw (M2x3) to secure the WLAN antenna cable bracket to the system board.
10. Replace the USB Type-A bracket on the system board.
11. Replace the single screw (M2x3) to secure the USB Type-A bracket to the system board.
12. Connect the power adapter port cable to its connector on the system board.
13. Connect the display cable to its connector on the system board. Close the latch to secure the cable.
14. Replace the display-cable bracket on the system board.
15. Replace the single screw (M2x3) to secure the display-cable bracket to the system board.
16. If your computer has a USB-C port, replace the USB-C bracket on the system board. Replace the two screws (M2x4) to
secure the USB-C bracket to the system board.
1. Install the world-facing camera.
2. Install the heatsink assembly.
3. For computers that are shipped with a Solid State Drive (SSD), install the solid-state drive.
4. Install the palmrest and keyboard assembly.
