Dell Precision Workstation M6500 Service Manual
Removing the Heat Sink
1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Remove the access panel.
4. Remove the hard drive.
5. Remove the secondary hard drive (if applicable).
6. Remove the hinge cover.
7. Remove the keyboard.
8. Remove the display assembly.
9. Remove the palm rest.
10. Loosen the four captive screws that secure the heat sink to the system board.
11. Remove the heat sink from the computer.
Replacing the Heat Sink
To replace the heat sink, perform the above steps in reverse order.
