7. Lubrication, cooling water and fuel
7-1 Engine oil
Use specified engine oil, otherwise, it greatly affects the startup operation and life of the
engine.
(1) Type of engine oil
Use API service category class CF-4, CH-4, CI-4 or JASO DH-1.
[Note]
* For new oil, the Total Base Number (TBN) must be at least 8mgkOH/g.
* Do not use the unrecommended combination of fuel and oil stated in the
following table.
* Refer to the engine instruction manual for further information.
The oil replacement interval depends on the grade of engine oil.
* For CF-4
Replace the oil after first 125 hours, and afterward in every 250 hours.
* For CH-4, CI-4, JASO DH-1
Replace the oil after first 125 hours, and afterward in every 500 hours.
