Configure SNMP traps
The router firmware supports the use of SNMP, with the ability to generate traps. To make the SNMP
(Simple Network Management Protocols) functional, you must configure a SNMP trap server.

1. Go to Configuration>RemoteManagement>SNMP>SNMPTraps.
2. Specify which types of SNMP traps you want to generate:
Generate Enterprise traps
Enables or disables generation of enterprise traps.
Generate Generic traps
Enables or disables generation of generic traps.
Generate Authentication Failure traps
Enables or disables generation of authentication failure traps.
Generate VRRP traps
Enables or disables generation of VRRP traps.
3. In SNMP Trap Server 0, configure the settings for SNMP trap server 0:
Trap Server IPAddress
The IP address for the SNMP trap server.
Port
The network port number for the SNMP trap server.
Use interface interface-type interface-number for the source IPaddress
The interface type and number to use for the source IPaddress. interface-type can be Auto,
PPP, or Ethernet.
Use SNMP Version
The SNMPversion to use (SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, or SNMPv3).
Send "Inform Request" message
Enables or disables sending the trap as an Inform Request message, which requires an
acknowledgment from the recipient. If this setting is enabled, these settings are displayed:
If no response, retransmit the Inform Request message after n seconds
Sets the Inform Request to retransmit if there is no response from the recipient after the
specified number of seconds.
Retransmit a maximum n times
Sets the number of times to retransmit the Inform Request message.
