Sectioning Method

Felling a tree that has a diameter greater than the
length of the guide bar requires use of either the
sectioning or plunge-cut method. These methods
are extremely dangerous because they involve
the use of the nose of the guide bar and can result
in kickback. Only properly trained professionals
should attempt these techniques.

the guide bar reauires the use of the plunge-cut method
before making the felling cut.
First, cut a large, wide notch. Make a plunge cut in the
center of the notch.
