2 absorber in the rebreather. The plug-in
connections point upwards, at a roughly 45° angle, the cover to the left.
b. Place the cylinder tensioning strap loosely on the CO
2 absorber.
c. Connect breathing bag 1 (exhalation side, red plug-in connections) in
sequence with the pressure relief valve, the connecting piece, and the CO
2
absorber.
d. d.Connect breathing bag 2 (inhalation side, green connectors) to the lung
demand valve, connector, and CO
2 absorber in sequence.
e. Turn the CO
2 absorber with the connections to the connecting pieces and
close the cylinder tensioning strap.
f. Place the protective cover on the carrying side and hook in the side tabs.
Rebreather is mounted.
4.5 Checking the rebreather
4.5.1 Checking for leaks at positive pressure
1. Slowly open the cylinder valve.
2. Close mouthpiece valve.
3. Turn the relief valve counterclockwise up to the stop ("opened" position).
4. Check bypass valve for function, press until both breathing bags are completely
filled, do not generate positive pressure.
5. Generate positive pressure via breathing, the exhalation valve releases excess
gas.
6. Turn the relief valve clockwise up to the stop ("closed" position).
7. Fill the breathing bag until the relief valve opens.
8. Immerse the rebreather under water.
Alternative leak test: Place weights (approx. 2 kg) on the breathing bags and
wait 2 minutes. Afterwards, the weights must stay afloat.
9. Remove adhering gas bubbles. With the exception of the bubble diffuser, no gas
bubbles may escape.
4.5.2 Checking for leaks at negative pressure
Prerequisites
Check tightness only with cylinder valve closed.
1. Close the cylinder valve.
2. Put the mouthpiece in your mouth.
3. Open the mouthpiece closure (lever points upwards).
4. Inhale several times through the mouth and exhale through the nose until a
negative pressure is created and both breathing bags are folded flat.
5. Close mouthpiece closure (lever pointing downwards).
