8.2 Cleaning and disinfecting
NOTICE
Danger of material damage!
Do not use solvents (e.g., acetone, alcohol) or cleaning agents with abrasive
particles for cleaning and disinfecting.
Only apply the described procedures and use the specified cleaning agents and
disinfectants. Other agents and procedures, dosages and exposure times can
damage the product.
8.2.1 Cleaning the rebreather
1. Prepare a cleaning solution of water and a cleaning agent.
2. Clean all parts carrying breathing air with a soft cloth and a cleaning solution.
3. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
4. Prepare a disinfection bath of water and a disinfectant.
5. Place all parts carrying breathing air in the disinfection bath.
6. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
7. All parts should be allowed to dry (temperature: max. 60 °C). Protect from direct
sunlight.
8.2.2 Cleaning the CO2 absorber
1. Clean the cartridge, lid and cuff separately from the other parts.
2. Rinse thoroughly under running water.
3. All parts should be thoroughly drained, then dried or disinfected if necessary.
8.3 Assemblies
8.3.1 Housing
The housing is the supporting assembly for the rebreather and serves to fasten all
components to each other. The housing is made of a particularly robust, fiber-
reinforced material, an elastic lid on the back protects the inner components,
especially the breathing bags, from damage. Some assemblies, such as the oxygen
pressure reducer and the switch device with supply hoses, are permanently
installed and are not removed for cleaning by the user during normal operation.
8.3.2 Compressed gas cylinders
Depending on the operation mode, two pressurized gas cylinders are provided for
use of the rebreather, one oxygen cylinder which is attached to the bottom of the
device, and one mixed-gas cylinder which the diver carries with him or her, for
example, on the back in the carrying harness.
