better handling, there is a fold-out handle on the lid. Inside the container, there is a
water trap behind the screen plate, which reliably prevents condensation water from
the inhalation bag from penetrating into the soda lime in any position. To facilitate
correct filling, there is a filling mark for the soda lime on the container. The lid has a
spring-loaded screen plate on the inside which compresses the soda lime bed.
The CO
2 absorber can be filled with loose soda lime or with a disposable cartridge.
8.3.10 Breathing bag
The breathing bags provide the main volume of the breathing circuit. They are
located in the center of the rebreather and are accessible from the rear of the
rebreather after removing the protective cover. During use, they lie tightly against
the diver's chest. The breathing bags each have three plug-in connectors for
connecting the components in the device. A defined, assigned position is indicated
by pictograms on the breathing bags. The exhalation bag has plug-in connectors
with red buttons, the inhalation bag has green buttons.
According to the installation sequence, the breathing bags are identified by 2
numbers: Exhalation bag 1; inhalation bag 2. The installation position can also be
seen on the pictogram of the breathing bags.
If the breathing bags are placed in the device in such a way that the pictograms can
be read, the connections of the breathing bags point to the correct connections in
the device.
The breathing bags can be hung from the eyes to dry.
Function
The breathing bags absorb the diver's exhaled gas volume and serve to connect all
other main components of the breathing circuit. The CO
2 absorber is located in the
breathing circuit between the inhalation and exhalation bags. In addition to the gas
inlet and the CO
2 absorber, the relief valve is also connected to the exhalation bag.
The CO
2 absorber, the lung demand valve, and the connecting piece are connected
to the inhalation bag.
