8. Loosen the two pneumatic cylinder height adjustment levers (Figure 6).
9. Adjust the height of the pneumatic cylinder until the gap between the
specimen and the bottom of the tool is approximately 3 mm

(Figure 6).
10.After adjustment, tighten the two levers.

b. If this adjustment is not made and the gap between the tool and the specimen is too
large, the tool will not be held as rigidly as possible and the quality of the finished
scratch may be impaired.
