Modbus Communications
The E Series Drive's serial communication protocol is Modbus RTU slave with
a 32 bit data extension. The Modbus protocol is available on most operator
interface panels and PLC's.
Emerson Motion Control's Motion Interface panels are supplied with a Modbus
master communications driver.
Multi-Drop Communications
The RS-485 option (pins 4 and 9) is provided for multi-drop configurations.
EMERSON provides a special multi-drop serial cable which allows you to
easily connect two or more E Series Drives.
