5.6 Removing/Replacing an I/O or
Communications Logic Module
EXPLOSION HAZARD - MAY CAUSE DEATH
Ensure the RTU is in a non-hazardous area. Never open the enclosure in a hazardous
area. Performing this operation in a hazardous area could result in an explosion.
DANGER TO PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT
During the removal/replacement, switch the I/O or communications this module
controls over to whatever manual/backup system you have.
1. Squeeze the orange tabs at the top and bottom of the module to release the module
and slide it straight out of the slot.

2. Press the new replacement module into the slot until it is properly seated.
