Switching Oil Filters For Maintenance
(Reference Figure 5-12)
When switching oil ow from one lter to the other for
maintenance, proceed with the following steps:
1. Slowly open inlet oil lter shut-off valve to oil lter
that will be active.
2. Slowly open inlet oil pressure shut-off valve for oil
lter to allow oil pressure to be read from oil lter
that is now active.
3. Slowly open outlet oil lter shut-off valve to oil lter
that is now active.

4. Slowly close inlet and outlet oil lter shut-off valves
for oil lter that is to be serviced.
5. Slowly close oil pressure shut-off valve for oil lter
that is to be serviced. Remove plug from oil lter
head assembly to aid in oil removal.
