6. Read the current gas flow rate from the menu SYSTEM COMPONENT TEST in the
F
LOW tab.
7. If the displayed flow rate diverges from the target flow rate by more than
±10 ml/min, find the cause and correct the defect.
The flow rate shown in the software does not correspond with the flow rate applied
in the system. The argon bypass flow rate is not registered. The bypass flow rate is
at approx. 15 ml/min. It may, however, vary between 10 and 25 ml/min. This
value must be considered when measuring the flow rate.
8. Insert the disposable filter in between the hoses for a second measurement and
repeat the reading of the current gas flow rate. The filter serves as a small
resistance in the gas flow.
9. If the gas flow determined during the 2
nd
measurement deviates from the gas flow
in the 1
st
measurement by more than 2 %, search the system for obstructions and
leaks.
