Activation code
You require activation codes for:
• Additional functions
• Software upgrades
• Modifications, e.g. deactivation of fieldbus protocols
If activation codes are available for your device, these codes are provided on the inner
nameplate. The corresponding device functions are activated at the factory. You only
require the codes if servicing or modifying the device.
1. Enter the activation code: Menu/Setup/General settings/Extended setup/Data
management/Activation code.
2. Confirm your entry.
Your new hardware or software function is activated and can be configured.
The table below tells you what functions an activation code enables:

Deactivation of fieldbus protocol when removing module 485 or ETH

1) If you remove module 485 or ETH with activated fieldbus protocol, the device puts an error message. You have to
enter the deactivation code from the inner nameplate now. Only then the fieldbus protocol is deactivated. For
using the current outputs of the base module, you have to enter an activation code then. Additional current
outputs are activated when installing the corresponding extension module.

2) When you order the "Measuring range switching" option, you receive two activation codes. Enter both codes to
have two sets for measuring range switching.
