TS-12 Musician’s Manual Section 5 — Preset/Track Parameters
15
Press the Track/MIDI button a third time to get to the MIDI Program Number page:
MIDI Program Number Page Range: 000 through 127
This sub-page lets you choose which MIDI Program Change number will be transmitted via
MIDI when the track is selected. Editing this value will transmit MIDI Program Changes in real-
time. If the track MIDI status has been set to ----/RECV or MIDI-OFF, the track will not transmit
MIDI Program Changes.
The default Program Change number that appears is usually the number of the internal TS-12
sound assigned to the track. This number is automatically set whenever a sound is selected from
the Sound Bank pages. Assigning a new sound to a Preset track from Replace Track Sound mode
does not change the Program Change number automatically, but sequencer tracks will acquire the
new sound’s Program Change number. When sequencer playback loops back to the beginning of
a track, all Track Program Change values will be restored to their stored values.
You can set this number to any other legal Program number if you wish to override the default
value. This can be useful in presets and sequencer tracks, which will transmit a MIDI Program
Change message for every MIDI-enabled track when selected.
Entering Program Change Numbers Directly
While this page is displayed (or from the Tracks 1-6 and 7-12 pages in sequencer mode), it is
possible to send MIDI program change messages by holding the soft button nearest the track
sound name and then entering the MIDI program change number using the numbered Bank
buttons. When you release the soft button, the program change will be sent, and the program
number will be updated in the display. The range of acceptable numbers is 000 to 127. You do
not have to enter leading zeroes (for example, to send 003, simply press 3 and release the soft
button).
Press the Track/MIDI button again to get to the MIDI Bank Select page:
MIDI Bank Select Page Range: 000 through 127, LSB or MSB
This sub-page lets you choose which MIDI Bank Select number will be transmitted via MIDI
when the track is selected or when program changes are transmitted. If the track MIDI status has
been set to ----/RECV or MIDI-OFF, the track will not transmit MIDI Bank Selects.
