sounds through unchanged, but then closes down to create a gate-type effect.
Can be used for almost all unlooped drums & percussion. To create a
percussion decay out of a looped sound, you should use the LDECAY,
MDECAY or SDECAY voices described below.
DRUM-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
DRUM-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
TIGHT-FX1 Very quick decay drum/perc. env., routed to FX-1. Good for transients, muted
or “choked” sounds. Turns an ambient drum wave into a tight one.
TIGHT-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
TIGHT-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
NORMAL-FX1 A normal mode env. for controlling the duration of the sound (sound plays as
long as the key is held, rather than always finishing its decay). Can be used for
snare roll, guiro, or other sustaining waves where you would want to vary the
duration.
NORMAL-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
NORMAL-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
TOMTOM-FX1 Slight downward pitch envelope, volume and filter shapes optimized for toms,
routed to FX-1. Can be used for toms, congas, tablas, anything that wants a
subtle pitch env. and drum decay. Pressure bends the pitch down further. (For
more radical pitch effects, use SYNDRM default below.)
TOMTOM-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
TOMTOM-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
KEYGRP-FX1 Trigger mode voice, optimized for hi-hats. This allows group voice cutoff, and
can be used for hi-hat key group.
KEYGRP-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
KEYGRP-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
LDECAY-FX1 Long cymbal/percussion decay, routed to FX-1. Can be used for crash
cymbals, rides, various long-decay percussion sounds.
LDECAY-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
LDECAY-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
MDECAY-FX1 Medium cymbal/percussion decay, routed to FX-1. Good used for china
cymbal, medium crash, and other medium-decay percussion sounds.
MDECAY-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
MDECAY-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
SDECAY-FX1 Short cymbal/percussion decay, routed to FX-1. Good for splash cymbals and
other, shorter-decay percussion sounds.
SDECAY-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
SDECAY-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
SYNDRM-FX1 Exaggerated pitch and filter envelopes, good for processing synth drums, or
creating special effects with regular drums.
SYNDRM-FX2 Same as above, routed to FX-2
SYNDRM-DRY Same as above, routed to DRY
DRUM-AUX The envelope is the same as DRUM-FX1, but the voice is routed to AUX. This
special default routes the basic drum/perc. voice to the AUX outputs.
Tip: By assigning one of the PATCH settings to the drum-map VOICE parameter and setting the
WAVE parameter to *-MUTED-*, you can use any internal ROM voice to play for that assigned
key. Just make sure that the internal ROM wave is assigned to one of the remaining voices (on
the Select Voice page) and that it is active in the defined patch select setting.
Press the Program Control button to exit the Drum-Map Editor.
