Considerations Prior to Installation
Wheninstallingtheswitch,notethefollowing:
•Beforestartingtheinstallationprocedure,notifythenetworkadministratorofthe
installation.
•Followtheinstallationproceduresintheorderaspresentedinthisguide.
•DonotconnecttheswitchtothenetworkuntilyouhaveestablishedthecorrectIP
address.
Required Tools
APhillipsscrewdriverisrequiredtoinstalltheswitchintoarack.
Unpacking the Switch
Unpacktheswitchasfollows:
1. Opentheboxandremovethepackingmaterialprotectingtheswitch.
2. VerifythatthecontentsofthecartoncontainstheitemslistedinTable 3‐1.
3. Removethetapesealonthenon‐conductivebagtoremovetheswitch.
4. Performavisualinspectionofthesw itchforany
signsofphysicaldamage.Contact
