3. Plugtheotherendofthecableintotheappropriateportontheotherdevice.Some
cablesmaybeterminatedattheotherendwithtwoseparateconnectors,oneforeach
fiber‐opticstrand.Inthiscase,ensurethat thetransmitfiber‐opticstrandisconnected
tothereceiveport
andthereceivefiber‐opticstrandtothetransmitport.
4. VerifythatalinkexistsbycheckingthattheportLink/ActivityLEDison(blinking
greenorsolidgreen).IftheLink/ActivityLEDisoff,performthefollowingstepsuntil
itison:
a. Verifythatthedeviceattheotherendof
thesegmentisONandconnectedtothe
segment.
b. Ifthereareseparatefiber‐opticconnectionsontheotherdevice,checkthe
crossoverofthecables. Swapthe cableconnectionsifnecessary.
c. Checkthatthefiber‐opticconnectionmeetsthedBlossandcablespecifications
outlinedintheCablingGuidefor
multimodemodecabling.Toobtainthis
