Overview

The DP75 is a microscope digital camera designed for acquiring and processing digital images, primarily for use with C-mount camera adapters on microscopes. It is an optical microscope accessory, and its operation requires careful adherence to the provided instructions to ensure safety and optimal performance.

Function Description

The primary function of the DP75 is to capture and save digital images from a microscope. It can acquire still images and control a commercially available shutter using external triggering signals. The camera supports various observation methods, including brightfield, fluorescence (FL), differential interference contrast (DIC), phase contrast (PH), and polarized light (PO), and can set optimal imaging conditions automatically using an AI function.

The DP75 utilizes a pixel shift mechanism for high-resolution imaging, offering resolutions up to 8192 x 6000 pixels (3CMOS mode). It also features an IR cut filter insertion/removal function, which is useful when observing fluorescence in the NIR (near infrared) wavelength range. The camera can be integrated with software such as cellSens, PRECİV, and DP2-TWAIN for image acquisition, processing, and analysis.

Key functionalities include:

  • Image Acquisition: Captures still images and movies.
  • Exposure Control: Offers manual and auto exposure modes, with options for photometric range selection and white balance adjustment.
  • Triggering: Supports external trigger input for image capture and trigger output for controlling external shutters.
  • Image Processing Features: Includes live noise reduction, live HDR, pixel shift imaging, pixel defect correction, shading correction, and black balance.
  • Position Navigator: A function for mapping and navigating specimens, though with certain performance constraints.
  • Image Saving: Supports various image file formats (TIFF, JPEG, JPEG2000, BMP, PDS, PNG, AVI, VSI, GIF, BTF, JP2, POIR) depending on the software used.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of the DP75.

  • Cleaning:
    • General Cleaning: Lenses and filters should be cleaned with a commercially available blower and gently wiped with a piece of cleaning paper (or washed-out clean gauze). Fingerprints and oil stains can be removed with cleaning paper moistened with commercially available absolute alcohol.
    • IR Cut Filter Cleaning: The IR cut filter slider can be removed by unscrewing two M3 screws. Dust adhering to the filter slider and dummy glass can be blown off with a commercially available blower.
  • Handling:
    • Impact Prevention: The pixel shift mechanism is sensitive to impact, so care must be taken when attaching or removing the camera from the microscope. The dedicated packaging box should be used for transportation.
    • Cable Management: Power cords and cables should be kept away from the lamp house to prevent melting and electric shock. Cables should be routed to avoid tripping hazards.
  • Calibration: Periodic calibration (approximately every three months) is necessary to address late-onset pixel defects caused by cosmic rays, performed using cellSens, PRECİV, or DP2-TWAIN.
  • Data Backup: Users are advised to frequently back up image data as recorded data may be lost due to various factors, including PC shutdown, cable disconnection, storage media lifespan, or product malfunction.
  • Transportation: When transporting the camera for repair or relocation, if the IR cut filter slider is in use, the attachment/detachment knob should be removed, and the cap screw reattached to prevent damage.
  • Grounding: The product must be properly grounded by connecting the ground terminal of the power cord to the ground terminal of the power outlet to ensure electrical safety and EMC performance.
  • AC Adapter and Power Cord: Only the AC adapter and power cord provided by the company should be used to guarantee electrical safety and EMC performance.
