2.2 Configuration with a Siemens master
Please note
Various configuration programs are available in conjunc-
tion with a Siemens master . Note the relevant procedure
with your configuration program.
The following chapters describe as an example the most im-
portant steps for configuring the Festo valve terminal with the
COM PROFIBUS or STEP7 software. It is assumed here that
the user is already familiar with the information in the manual
fortheCOMPROFIBUSorSTEP7software.
2.2.1 Preparations for COM PROFIBUS 3.x and 5.0
GSD 1. Copy the device data base of the valve terminal into the
following directory on your PC or programmer:
– COM PROFIBUS 3.x: \COMPB3x\GSD
– COM PROFIBUS 5.0: \SIEMENS\CPBV50\GSD
CD ROM utilities The GSD file can be found on the accompanying CD ROM or in
Internet under www.profibus.com in the “GSD Library”.

Please note
Update the slave catalogue when you copy the device data
base file while working with COM PROFIBUS.
