Number Description
G
OPERATE and STANDBY indicators located above the output terminals. The OPERATE
indicator illuminates when the output value and function shown on the Display are active at
the selected terminals. The STANDBY indicator located above the output terminals
illuminates when the output value and function shown on the Display are not active at the
illuminated terminals.
H
HIGH VOLTAGE indicator illuminates when there is high voltage (>30 V) present at the
output terminals.

GUARD terminal

The GUARD terminal is always connected internally to the internal guard
shield. This shield is tied to the OUTPUT LO signal ground inside the Calibrator unless
External Guard is selected. See External Guard.
J
Earth Ground terminal - The EARTH terminal is always connected to the chassis ground.
K
The color touch-sensitive Display shows the output amplitude, frequency, and other active
conditions and messages. The Display provides controls not available with the keys alone.
The Calibrator interface is made up of multiple menus, selectable choices, and blue softkeys
(at the bottom of the Display).
L
Push Jto place the Product in Operate. Operate is indicated by the OPERATE indicator
(
G) and also on the Display.
XW Warning
To prevent possible electrical shock, fire, or personal injury, take care while
the Product is in Operate. The terminals can have voltages present that
could cause injury or death.
M
Push Lto place the Product in Standby. Standby is indicated by the STANDBY indicator
(
G) and also on the Display.
N
Use the Numeric keypad to enter the digits of the output amplitude and frequency.
O
Use a Metric Prefix key (if necessary) and an Output Units key to select the output function
of the Product.
P
Push Eto load the output settings that were entered with the Numeric and Output Units
keys. If you push Ewithout identifying the units for the entry, in Single Output functions
the Product assumes the primary unit of the presently-displayed function. In Error (edit)
mode, E restores the output to the value of the reference.
Q
Push B(Back Space) to delete and re-enter a numerical entry.
