The "TIG comfort-stop" function is only available on the TP 1500 TIG power source.
Important! The default setting is that the TIG comfort-stop function (see section headed
"TIG comfort-stop function") is deactivated.
If the TIG comfort-stop function is deactivated, end-crater filling by downslope is not
possible and there is no gas shielding of the end crater.
- Stop welding (this applies when the TIG comfort-stop function is deactivated)
- Lift the torch off the workpiece until the arc goes out
- Stop welding (this applies when the TIG comfort-stop function is activated)

function
The "TIG comfort-stop" function is only available on the TP 1500 TIG power source.
Important! For details on how to activate and set up the TIG comfort-stop, please see
the section headed "The set-up menu".
(1) Welding
(2) Raise the welding torch, during the welding procedure
- The arc becomes visibly longer
(3) Lower the welding torch
- The arc becomes visibly shorter
- The TIG comfort-stop function is initiated
(4) Keep the torch at this same height
- The welding current is reduced along the downslope towards the minimum
welding amperage (10 A)
- The minimum welding current is kept constant for 0.2 seconds
- The arc goes out
(5) Wait until the end of the gas post-flow time and lift the torch off the workpiece
