Baffle (resistor) removal (Manufacturer recommended)
The rear grille should be attached to the sleeve in a manner that will prevent recirculation of con-
denser discharge air into the air inlet.
If the rear grille is not attached directly to the sleeve, a locally purchased splitter or gasket installa-
tion is required between the chassis and the rear grille.
When a separate component that is used as ventilation resistance is attached to the grille, remove
it to use.
If there is a baffle (resistor) on the back of the grille,
remove it before use.
NOTE: Use of a rear grille that is difficult to meet the above conditions or can be recirculated may
cause the following problems and is not covered by the unit warranty.
The increased power consumption due to the reduced capacity and efficiency of the unit
causes intermittent operation and shutdown of the compressor by the compressor over-
load protector.
Excessive intermittent operation of the compressor's overload protection device can de-
grade the performance of the protection device, causing compressor failure and shorten-
ing component life.
