Baffle (resistor) removal (Manufacturer recommended)
The rear grille should be attached to the sleeve in a manner that will prevent recirculation of con-
denser discharge air into the air inlet.
• If the rear grille is not attached directly to the sleeve, a locally purchased splitter or gasket installa-
tion is required between the chassis and the rear grille.
• When a separate component that is used as ventilation resistance is attached to the grille, remove
it to use.
If there is a baffle (resistor) on the back of the grille,
remove it before use.
NOTE: Use of a rear grille that is difficult to meet the above conditions or can be recirculated may
cause the following problems and is not covered by the unit warranty.
• The increased power consumption due to the reduced capacity and efficiency of the unit
causes intermittent operation and shutdown of the compressor by the compressor over-
load protector.
• Excessive intermittent operation of the compressor's overload protection device can de-
grade the performance of the protection device, causing compressor failure and shorten-
ing component life.
