Rear grille selection
Select an appropriate grille to ensure that the unit operates properly and that does not malfunction or
lose capacity.
• For the rear grille, use a standard grille that meets the following conditions.
– There is at least 65% free space
– There is 85% or more free space recommended
Free area is defined as the minimum area of the opening in an air inlet or outlet through which air
can pass.
Free area (Percent [%]) equals the X dimension divided by the Y dimension.

NOTE: Do not use a rear grille with a louver of 12-13/16 in (325 mm) or less within a range of
15-3/8 in (390 mm) from the left end, as resistance increases and the capacity drop signifi-
cantly.
