5.2 Connection Procedure When Adding an ETERNUS DX/AF

■ Adding five or more ETERNUS DX/AF storage systems
To add five or more ETERNUS DX/AF storage systems, cascade the power synchronized units by adding another
power synchronized unit.
The procedure is described below.
1 Set the required settings for power synchronization of the ETERNUS DX/AF storage systems
that are to be added.
For details about the ETERNUS DX/AF settings, refer to "4.1 Setting the ETERNUS DX/AF" (page 45).
2 Install the power synchronized unit that is to be added in the rack.
For details about how to install a power synchronized unit, refer to "2.3.1 Installing a Power
Synchronized Unit" (page 36).
3 Turn on the added power synchronized unit.
For details about how to turn on a power synchronized unit, refer to "4.2 Turning on the Power
Synchronized Unit" (page 50).
4 Cascade two power synchronized units.
A cascade connection example is shown below.
For details about cascade connection, refer to "4.3
Connecting Cascade Cables" (page 53).
