The Scroll Lock key triggers special operations that vary between
applications.
Insert

The Insert
key is used to switch between two text-en tering modes:
1. O verwrite
mode: when typing, the cursor overwrites any text that is
present in
the current location.
2. Insert mode: the cursor inserts a character at the current position,
forcing all characters one position further

The Delete key is used to deletethe character ah ead of the cursor
