Handling optical discs
Handling
Observe the following guidelines when handling optical discs:
• Avoid touching the surface of a optical disc. Only hand le optical discs by their edges.
• Always store optical discs in their cases. This w ill protect the optical disc against
being covered in dust, scratched or damaged in any other way.
• Protect your optical discs against dust, mechanical vibrations and direct sunlight.
• Avoid storing a o ptical disc in areas subject to high temperatures or humidity.
You may use both 3-in. / 8-cm and 4.7-in. / 12-cm discs in the optical drive.
When using an optical disc of lesser quality, vibrations and rea ding errors may occur.
CD/DVD indicator
CD/DVDindicato
r
The CD/DVD indicator flashes when an optical disc is inserted. The indicator goes out when
the drive is ready for reading. The indicator lights up w hen the drive is being accessed.
You may only remove the optical disc when the indicator is unlit.
If the CD/DVD indicator does not go out after a optical disc has been inserted, but
instead continues to flash, this means that the drive cannot access the op tical disc.
Either the optical disc is damaged or dirty or y ou are using a optical
disc that the drive cannot read.
