Switch the notebook off w hen it is not in use. Switch off extern al, connected devices if you
are not using them. If you use the energy saving functions, the notebook uses less energy.
You will then be ab le to work for longer be fore having to recharge the battery.
Energy efficiency is increased and the environmental impact is reduced.
You save m oney while protecting the environment.

Before you travel
► Back up important data store d on your hard disk.

► Sw itch off the radio component for data s ecurity reason s. With data traffic via a wireless
connection, it is also possible for unauthorised third parties t o receive data.
Information on activating data encryption is provided in the docum entation
for your radio component.
► If you wish to use your notebook during a flight, first check with the flight
attendants if it is OK to do so.
When travelling in other countries
► If you are travelling abroad, ch eck that the mains adapter can be operated with the
local m ains voltage. If this is not the case , obtain th e appropriate mains adapter fo r
your notebook. Do not use any other voltage converter!
► C heck whether the local mains v oltage and the power cable are compatible. If this is
not the case, buy a power cable that matches the local conditions.
► Enquire with the corresponding government office of the country you will be travelling
in as to wh ether you may operate the radio component integrated in your notebook
there (see also "
CE marking", Page 63 - English).
