H ighlight the Set Supervisor Password or Set User Password eld and press the Enter k ey.
You will be requested to enter the current password by the Enter Current Password prompt.
You will be requested to enter a new password by the Enter New Password prompt.
Press the Enter key twice.
In the Exit menu, select the option Save Changes & Exit.
Select Yes and press the Enter k ey.
The notebook will now reboot with the password removed.
Removing the supervisor password simultaneously deactivates the user passw ord.

With the s upervisor password you ha ve set in the BIOS Setup U tility (see
section "
Setting super visor and us er password", Page 35 - English), you
can also prevent booting of the operating system.

Activating system protection
Start the BIOS Setup Utility and go to the Security menu.
Operatings ystem
Select the Password on Boot option and press the Enter key.
Select the desired option (Disabled, First Boot or Every Boot) and press the Enter key
Select the Save Changes & Exit option unde r Exit.
The notebook will reboot. You will be prompted to enter your password (the su pervisor password).
Deactivating system protection
Start the BIOS Setup Utility and go to the Security menu.

Select the Password on Boot option and press the Enter key.
Select the Disabled option and press the Enter key.
If you do not want to change any other settings, you can exit BIOS Setup Utility.
Select the Save Changes & Exit option unde r Exit.
The n otebook will reboot. The system is no longer password-protected.
Password protection for the hard disk
Passwordpr otection:

sk password prevents unauthorised access to the hard disk drives
and is ch
ecked internally each time the system is booted. The condition for this
is that y
ou have assigned at least the supe rvisor password.
Activa
ting hard disk protection
Call up the BIOS Setup and select the Security menu .
If you
have not assigned BIOS passwo rds yet, dene the supervisor and the user
passw
ord now, if desired (see "
Secu rity f unctions", Page 34 - English).
Mark the Hard Disk Security eld and press the Enter key.
