Status indicators Description
Power-on indicator/Standby

• The indicator is lit: The notebo

• The indicator flashes: The notebook is in standby mode.
• The indicator is not lit: The no
tebook is switched off.
Battery charging indicator/power connector
The state of charge of the battery is shown by the battery indicator.
With mains ada pter connected:
• The indicator lights up blue: The battery is fully charged.
• The indicator lights up orange: The battery is charging.
• The indicator flashes orange: An error has occurred. The battery
cannot be charged.
• The indicator is off: The system is in batt ery mode and the mains
adapter is not connected or the battery is not installed.

The indicator is lit: One of the drives (e.g. hard disk, CD/DVD) is being
accessed.
Num Lock indicator

key has been pressed. T he virtual numerical
keypad is activated. You can output the characters indicated on the upper
right of the keys.
Caps Lock indicator

The indicator is lit: The Caps Lock k ey has been pressed. All the characters
you type will appear in upper case. In the case of overlay keys, the
character printed on the upp er left of the key will appear when that key
is pressed.
Switching on the notebook
► Open the LCD screen.
Switchingon
► Press the ON/OFF switch for about one
second to switch the notebook on.
The power-on indicat o r is lit.
