A PC card slot (CardBus or PCMCIA) enables the notebook to operate a type II PC card.
Consult the documentation supplied by the PC card manufacturer
and fo llow the instructions provided.
Never use force when inserting or removing a PC card.
The PC card slot may be protected w
ith a placeholder that must be
removed before using the slot.
Keep the placeholder in a s afe pla
ce. If yo u later remove the PC card you sh ould also refit
the placeholder in the empty slot
. Th is prevents foreign matter from getting into the slot.

You should also read the help files on the supplied CD , the information provided
with the drivers fo r the card, or the information provided with the operating syste m
(e. g. Help and Support Center in Windows XP).
Inserting a PC card

► Push the P C card release mechanism i n
the direction indicated by the arrow (1) until
the placeholder for the PC card comes
out of the notebook slightly.
► Pull the placeholder f or the PC
card (2 ) out of the slot.

► Ins e rt the PC card, c ontacts first,
into the slot guide.
► Gently push the PC card into the slot
until you feel it click into place.
