Access Gateway Mode
The following optional software are applicable in Access Gateway mode:
• Ports on Demand (POD)
• ISL trunking
• Adaptive networking (with 6.3.0 or greater)
For detailed information on any of these features, refer to the Brocade Fabric OS Administrator’s
Guide.
Inter-Switch Link (ISL) Trunking Optimizes the performance and availability of SAN fabrics
while simplifying ISL management. For example, two 4
Gbps Brocade switches can automatically group up to
eight ISLs into a single logical “trunk,” with a total
throughput of up to 64 Gbps.
Advanced Performance Monitoring Enables more effective end-to-end SAN performance
analysis of networked storage resources.
Brocade Extended Fabrics Extends the reach of storage environments across longer
distances by supporting up to 500 Km between the hosts
and storage devices, depending on the connectivity
bandwidth. 1, 2, 4, and 8 GBps links are available.
Server Application Optimization (SAO) license Optimizes overall application performance for physical
servers and virtual machines. SAO, when deployed with
Brocade Fibre Channel HBAs, extends Brocade Virtual
Channel (VC) technology from the fabric to the server
infrastructure. This delivers application-level Quality of
Service (QoS) management to the HBAs and related server
applications.
NOTE: The Brocade 5450 Embedded Switch Module is available in two models: the Base model and the
Enterprise model. The Enterprise model includes all the optional software features listed in this table.
