Connecting the Embedded Switch Module through an external port
Use the following procedure to establish an Ethernet connection through an external port.
NOTE
Ensure that the Embedded Switch Module is not being modified from any other connection until
configuration is complete.
1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Management LAN port on the Embedded Switch Module
faceplate.
2. Click Connection Blades Status in the middle pane of the PRIMERGY BX900 Management
Blade GUI to expand the list.
3. Select FC Connection Blade from the Connection Blade Status in the middle pane, shown in
Figure 11,

The current FC Connection Blade information displays.
4. Click the Configuration tab in the middle pane.
5. Scroll down to the Management Port Control section, shown in Figure 12.

6. Select External Port from the Management Port list.
7. Cl ic k Apply.
