External serial interface Installing the external serial interface
Ê Connect the external serial cable to the system board (see arrow).
Ê Fix the riser with the two screws.

Ê Route the cable as shown.
Ê Close the server, connect it to the power outlet, and switch it on as described
in the chapter “Completion” on page 101.
I If another external parallel interface is to be installed in addition to the
external serial interface, route the cables as shown in the next step.
The serial interface is then installed in slot 7 and the parallel interface in
slot 8.
