19.15 Test Filter Option
This procedure verifies filter settings by using a function generator to simulate a signal
with an amplitude equal to full scale at the -3dB frequency. Since the filter attenuates a
signal with this frequency by 3dB, the monitor output should be 65% to 75% of full scale.

For some full scale ranges such as those listed in step 5b, the function generator may not
be able to output a signal with an amplitude great enough to match the full scale range
of the monitor. In this case, use the alternate procedure in Section 19.16 to test the filter.

Channels A and B must be calibrated before doing this test. Refer to Section 15.
If barriers are used, test with barriers in place.
1. Disconnect the transducer input wires from the channel A terminals on the Signal
Input Relay Module.
2. Connect a function generator to channel A input terminals as shown in this figure.

  Caution
Tests will exceed alarm setpoint
levels causing alarms to activate.
This could result in relay contacts
changing state. See Danger
Bypass, Section 12.
  WARNING
High voltage present. Contact
could cause shock, burns, or
death.
Do not touch exposed wires or
terminals.
