parameter 3176 Brakeopenspdthr (and in any case not before a time equal to PAR 3172 Brakeopende-
lay, which is always measured from the moment the brake opens) the pre-torque value injected (Brakeopen
thrmon) after opening is reset to 0 with a ramping down time that is always equal to the value of 3188 Brake
torquetime.
In the transient opening phase the “positioner” could generate a speed reference value that is higher than the
“Brakeopenspdthr” threshold. This, in turn, could result in the removal of the pre-torque due to the incorrect
assumption that a positioner has started. To prevent this, parameter 3172 Brakeopendelay can be set so that
the comparison with the speed reference is only performed after a certain delay.
In this mode the “Brakefault” alarm can never be triggered as it is not envisaged in “Hoistmode2”.
Closingphase:
When the drive is disabled (also due to any alarms that are capable of disabling it) a close brake command is
sent immediately, regardless of the operating condition.
For normal closing, set parameters 3174, 3178 and 3190.
When the brake opening phase is complete and after a delay equal to at least the value of 3190 Brakeclose
wait (measured from the moment pre-torque removal ends) it waits for the speed reference to fall below the
value set in 3178 Brakeclosespdthr.
Parameter 3174 Brakeclosedelaycan be used to enter a delay between the moment the closing condition
occurs and that in which the close command is actually sent by the drive.
After the brake closing condition has occurred (within the time set in Brake close delay) it is also possible to
restart the drive by sending a new positioning command. In that case the timer is reset and the drive waits for
the closing condition again, which occurs when the speed reference falls to below the value of Brakeclose
spdthrand after the delay set in Brakeclosewait.
Parameter 3190 Brakeclosewait can thus reasonably be set to a value that is slightly less than the position-
ing time. It ensures that within the set time the speed reference can also fall below the Brakeclosespdthr
value without the close command being sent.
