Troubleshooting
NOTE: Contact an IASD if any problem persists.
Engine smokes

specific procedures)
Incorrect engine oil level. Check engine oil level and adjust as needed.
Clogged or dirty cooling fins or carbu-
retor housing.
Inspect cooling fins and carburetor housing.
Clean as needed.
Dirty or clogged air filter.
Replace air filter according to engine manufac-
turer recommendations if dirty.
Incorrect type or viscosity of engine
oil.
See engine owner's manual.
Engine runs well but
unit is not blowing
snow
Augers not turning.
Inspect auger belts and shear bolts and replace
as needed.
Impeller not turning.
Inspect impeller bolts and shear bolts. Replace as
needed.
Wheels not turning
when traction drive
lever is engaged
Stretched or worn traction drive belt. Replace traction drive belt.
Dirty or wet traction drive pulley face.
Inspect traction drive pulley face. Clean as
needed.
Damaged or worn friction drive wheel. Inspect friction drive wheel. Replace as needed.
