Replacing Friction Drive Wheel
Disassembly
Proceed as follows to disassemble the friction drive
wheel:
1. Dra
in fuel and oil from the machine.
2. Sh
ift to 6th gear.
3. See Figure 4-18. With the help of another person,
tip snow blower onto auger housing (A).

4. See Figure 4-19. Insert a flat head screwdriver (B)
into the slot of the wheel retaining c
lips (C) and
rotate screwdriver away from axle shaft to lift the
inside of the clip above the end of the axle.

5. See Figure 4-20. Push clips off axle shaft (D).

6. See Figure 4-21. Remove both wheels (E) and
shaft keys (F) from axle shafts (G).

the two bolts (G) securing transmiss
ion cover (H),
and remove transmission cover.
