7.1 Selecting and changing the nosepiece
Caution:
Always t the nosepiece corresponding to the size of the blind rivet (refer to table in
Section 6).
To change the nosepiece:
Disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply.
Unscrew nosepiece from steel head sleeve.
Screw in corresponding nosepiece and tighten.
7.2 To set a blind rivet
Connect the riveting tool to the compressed air supply.
Insert the blind rivet in the nosepiece and t as far as it will go in the hole in the material
to be joined.
Press trigger until the mandrel breaks off.
Release trigger.
The spent mandrel is automatically conveyed into the spent mandrel container.
8. Sucking in and holding a blind rivet
Special function VAS
The setting screw marked with “VAS” is reached with the supplied ball end screwdriver.
Turning the screw 1 to max. 1.5 turns clockwise creates the suction air that holds the
blind rivet in the nosepiece.
Only turn the setting screw so that the suction air holds the vertical blind rivet against the
nosepiece.
Turning the screw anticlockwise shuts off the suction air.
9. Emptying the spent mandrels from the container
Caution:
The spent mandrel container must be emptied regularly; overlling will cause the
riveting tool to malfunction.
Disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply.
Open the spent mandrel container by turning the outer casing, empty spent mandrels into
suitable container and dispose of in corresponding recycling system.
