Prepare For Blood Tests
Before The Test
You must calibrate your meter every time you begin to use a new box
of β-ketone/ lactate/ total cholesterol/ triglycerides/ uric acid test strips
by setting the meter with the correct code. You need to make sure that
the code number displayed on your meter matches the number on the
test strip packaging before you proceed testing. Test results may be
inaccurate if the code number displayed on your meter does not match
the number printed on the test strip vial or individual foil packet. If the
codes do not match, stop the test and contact GlucoRx Customer Care
for assistance.
Always follow the calibration instructions in the test strip insert.
Prepare the Lancing Device for Blood Tests
Please follow the instructions in the lancing device insert on how to
prepare your lancing device for collecting a blood sample.
WARNING
To reduce the chance of infection:
● Never share the meter, lancet or lancing device;
● Always use a new, sterile lancet. Lancets are for single use only;
● Avoid getting hand lotion, oils, dirt, or debris in or on the lancets and
the lancing device.
Prepare the Puncture Site
Stimulating blood perfusion by rubbing the puncture site at the fingertip
significantly enhances the accuracy of the test result.
Follow these steps before obtaining a blood sample:
● Wash your hands with soap and dry thoroughly before you begin;
● Select a puncture site;
● Rub the selected site for about 20 seconds before lancet penetration.
