5 EMERGENCY OPERATIONS
All lifts have:
a yellow alarm button;
a two-way remote assistance device that allows passengers in the car to request
a rescue operation by communicating with an external emergency service.
an intercom device that allows passengers in the car to communicate with the
rescuer in the machinery room during the rescue operation
5.1 HOW TO MAKE A DISTRESS CALL
People trapped in the lift can signal an emergency by pressing the yellow alarm button on the car’s push-button
panel.
If rescue personnel are in the building: to send the distress call, simply press the alarm button for less than 5
seconds and activate the bell and, if present, the current alarm signals from the floor push-button panels and from
the building’s custodial station.
If there are no rescue personnel in the building: to send the distress call, press the button for more than 5 seconds
to activate the telephone dialler and send a call to the 24/24 h emergency service.
When the alarm signal is received by the emergency service, the luminous “Alarm received” signal lights up in the car
and it will then be possible to communicate with an operator and request the intervention of a rescuer (any notices
will be visible on the car display through pictograms).
IMPORTANT!
The remote assistance device dialler does not activate if the car is at the floor with the doors
open or if the lift is travelling normally between floors.
